Design and Construction of a 250 bay multi-story carpark for the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics.
The building is constructed from precast walls and suspended decks with structural steel forming the roof structure. The precast panels are 14m tall and required a large area to build and deliver to site. The aluminium slats with the design of the iconic Alice Springs Gap (the Gap) on the north and south side and the perforated mesh facing Gap Road are the standout design feature.
Communication throughout the project was a key element to ensure the carpark met the hospital’s needs.
The project was a success despite COVID lockdowns with feedback from both the Alice Springs community and the client hugely positive. The carpark is now considered a landmark.
